MONROE — The community school supply drive to support elementary students in the School District of Monroe at Abe Lincoln, Northside, Parkside and St. Victors will be held July 5-26. This drive is coordinated by the Monroe Noon Optimist Club and supported by WI Bank & Trust, First National Bank & Trust, Woodford State Bank, Greenwoods State Bank, The Bank of New Glarus — Monroe, Summit Credit Union, Marine Credit Union, First Community Credit Union and First Weber Realty.
The drive has been successfully coordinated by the Monroe Noon Optimist Club and has been running for 20 years in Monroe because of the generous support of many community members.
Drop-off locations include the following banks during their regular business hours.
The items most needed for this year’s drive include: Expo dry erase markers, washable markers, colored pencils, pencils, glue sticks, backpacks and headphones.
In addition to school supplies, monetary donations can be accepted through the Monroe Noon Optimists. Donations will be used to purchase the most needed items or sponsor pre-packed student supply kits.
Monroe students and families in need of school supplies can visit Abe Lincoln, Parkside or Northside elementary school during the Jumpstart program from 8-11 a.m. between July 31 to August 11. Remaining supplies will be available at each elementary school during Meet Your Teacher night later in August.
