MONROE - Monroe City Band continues the summer free public concert series at 8 p.m. Monday, June 23, in the Twining Park bandshell.
As usual, the concert will open with the Star Spangled Banner, as arranged by David Shaffer.
The program continues with Themes from Rosamunde Overture, by Franz Schubert, as arranged by R. A. Bartholomew; Southern Folk Rhapsody, a medley arranged by Michael Sweeney; Kentucky Pride, by John Edmondson; and Where the River Flows, an historical trilogy, by James Swearingen.
Also to be included are Silent Movies, by William Ryden; Across the Great Divide, by Rob Romeyn; Swing's the Thing, a medley arranged by Eric Osterling; and The Simpsons, by Danny Elfman, as arranged by Paul Lavender.
The band is directed by Randy Schneeberger.
