Monroe Fund names 2010 board, officers

MONROE - The Monroe Fund, a component of the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin Inc. recently announced its new advisory board members and 2010 officers.

The new advisory board members are attorneys Dan Bartholf and Todd Schluesche. The 2010 chairman is Bob Knudtson and secretary is Carol Knox. Other returning board members include Rich Hager, Charles Dearth, Bub Zwygart, Shelley Muranyi, Sue Buholzer and Ron Spielman.

The Monroe Fund Grant Cycle is now open. Projects that serve the greater Monroe area are eligible.

Requests from individuals are not eligible.

The Monroe Fund looks for projects or programs that propose practical solutions to current community needs in the areas of the arts, education, historic preservation, and health and human services.

All applications must be postmarked or submitted no later than 4 p.m. on April 15. To apply, complete the application online: www.cfsw.org, print, sign and send with one copy to the Monroe Fund, Post Office Box 733, Monroe, WI 53566.
