MONROE — The Monroe Clinic & Hospital Foundation’s “Little Golf” and Grill event, held on June 13, was an afternoon of mini golf that led into a night full of generous giving for a great cause.
This year’s “Little Golf” and Grill was held at Swissland Miniature Golf in New Glarus, WI, with dinner following under the tent at Chalet Landhaus Inn. The event raised over $60,000 from countless heartfelt donations provided by community members and businesses.
“It was so special to come together to enjoy our 31st year of ‘Little Golf’ and Grill,” commented Jane Sybers, Executive Director of Monroe Clinic & Hospital Foundation, a member of SSM Health. “Even the rain couldn’t dampen our guests’ excitement and dedication to supporting our SSM Health at Home’s hospice services!”
The evening program celebrated the work hospice volunteers do through the We Honor Veterans program that conducts pinning ceremonies to hospice patients who are military Veterans. During the program, the volunteer group demonstrated the different parts of the pinning ceremony including the final salute. To round out the evening, a silent and live auction, that featured popular items such as a signed American Family Insurance Championship golf flag, Yeti cooler package and Farm to Table dinner experience, brought forward the competitive spirit of many.
A special thanks goes to the event’s Founding Sponsor, Hans Lenzlinger and family, for all their generosity. The Lenzlinger family graciously underwrote the entire event, resulting in all the dollars raised going directly to local hospice services. Gratitude also goes to this year’s Diamond Sponsors, Kalscheur Family Foundation and Only in Wisconsin Giving, Incorporated.
