MONROE — The Monroe City Band concludes its 2019 season with a traditional holiday concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1 at the Monroe United Methodist Church, 2227 4th St., Monroe.

The band will perform a collection of traditional and contemporary holiday music, classic band literature, and a sing-a-long. The concert is free to attend and there will be a Green County Food Pantry collection to help those in need during this holiday season. Audience members are also invited to join the band in Fellowship Hall immediately following the concert for cake and punch.

In 2020 the band will celebrate its 71st season of making music in Monroe. Those who have been thinking about dusting off an old instrument, now is the time. Rehearsals for the summer season will begin in April. Questions should be directed to Monroe City Band Director Brian Bruggeman at citybandmonroe@gmail.com or 608-328-7447.
