Monroe: BTC classes starting Jan. 14

MONROE - The new semester kicks off at the Monroe Campus of Blackhawk Technical College on Monday, Jan. 14, with credit programming, and opportunities for adding knowledge and improving skills continue throughout the semester with continuing education classes.

There may be persons unfamiliar with BTC who think the college has nothing to offer them if they're not able or interested in pursuing an educational degree or diploma.

With a wide variety of credit programming available, BTC certainly does serve those seeking degrees, but BTC offers so much more than that.

The continuing education classes available at the BTC Monroe Campus, located at 210 4th Avenue, on the northwest edge of the city, cover a broad range of topics, training, and skills. Not only that, they are generally short-term and do not include grades, tests or term papers.

Continuing education is all about delivering knowledge and skills that will assist the participant in achieving their goals, whether those be improved job performance, career advancement or change of direction, life style improvement, or personal enrichment to name just a few possibilities. Persons wishing to know more about classes available can check the BTC website at www.blackhawk.edu and click on Spring non-credit classes under Publications and Surveys. Registrations are currently being accepted for all continuing ed classes, most of which meet at the BTC Monroe Campus, but with a few meeting at Monroe High School and the Behring Senior Center.

Information about continuing ed classes can also be obtained at the BTC Monroe Campus. There will be no direct mailing of class information as in past semesters, so students need to request the list of classes to receive that information.
