Thomas M. Miller Jr., former Juda resident, was promoted to Staff Sergeant effective February 1. Miller joined the U.S. Army after graduating from the Juda High School in 2003 and received training at Ft. Benning, Ga., and Ft. Lee, Va. He has been stationed at Ft. Hood, Texas, and Ft. Riley, Kan., and was deployed to Iraq twice, serving 12 months with the First Cavalry Division in Baghdad and 15 months with the First Infantry Division near Mosul.
He is currently the Supply Sergeant for the Headquarters Company of the 194th Armored Training Brigade at the US Armor Center and School at Ft. Knox, Ky., where he lives with his wife, the former Leslie Lopez of Lubbock, Texas, and their infant son, Xander. Miller is the son of the Rev. Thomas and Patricia Miller of Juda.
