MONROE — TDS Telecommunications LLC (TDS) congratulates Skye Dickson for being selected to receive a scholarship from the Wisconsin State Telecommunications Foundation (WSTF).
Dickson, a Monroe High School senior who plans to attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison this fall, was awarded a $1,500 scholarship. She is one of three Wisconsin high school students in a TDS community receiving a scholarship from the WSTF scholarship program.
Dickson was not only selected due to her exceptional academic performance. She is also an active participant in numerous extracurricular activities, demonstrates strong leadership abilities, and is dedicated to improving her community through volunteer work.
The WSTF scholarship program is funded each year by local telephone companies — including TDS Telecom. The scholarships are available to high school seniors in the company’s service area. WSTF volunteers review the applications and select finalists based on financial need, academic achievements, extracurricular activities, and other criteria.
“For 16 years, TDS Telecom has proudly supported driven, high-achieving, and community-minded students in their pursuit of higher education through the WSTF scholarship,” said Angie Dickison, TDS State Government Affairs Manager. “We wish these talented individuals good luck and success as they embark on their post high school journeys.”
Since 1966, the WSTF has given more than $1.8 million to help students further their education. In its 57 years, the foundation has awarded scholarships to more than 1,400 students.
The foundation is part of the Wisconsin State Telecommunications Association (WSTA), which is a trade organization representing 67 companies and cooperatives in Wisconsin, including TDS.
