MONROE - A Memorial Day dedication and service will be held 1 p.m. May 25 at the Green County Veteran's Memorial Park at the Pleasant View Park.
The event is open to the public.
Guest speaker will be Steve Saunders, originally of Brodhead and a Vietnam War veteran. Veterans and families who have placed memorial bricks and benches in the park in the past year will be honored. New to the park this spring will be the Fallen Soldier statues placed in the walkway in honor of all fallen soldiers during wartime.
The Park Committee is working on fundraising to purchase bronze plaques representing each major war. Donations given in memory or honor of a veteran towards plaques are accepted.
