Master gardeners to discuss organization

MONROE - The Green County Master Gardeners will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25 in the multi-purpose rooms at the Green County Justice Center, 2841 6th St.

Mike Maddox, Wisconsin Master Gardener program director, will be on hand to discuss the statewide organization and its mission. He will share the requirements to become a Master Gardener and what is needed each year to continue certification beyond the original training. He will also discuss projects, goals, changes and accomplishments within the state program. Maddox will include comments about the local associations throughout the state and the importance of them within the state program. Suggestions for volunteer and continuing education hours will also be given.

The Green County Master Gardeners Association, formed in 2004, meets on the fourth Thursday of the month from February through October.
