Midday Masterworks mini-recital scheduled for July 26 canceled

MONROE — The Midday Masterworks organ mini-recital that had been scheduled for Wednesday, July 26 at the Monroe United Methodist and St. Victor Catholic Churches, has been canceled due to unforeseen circumstances.  

The next recital in the series is scheduled for October, with more information available at a later date.

‘Curd is the Word’ at NHCC

MONROE — The National Historic Cheesemaking Center will hold an open house from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, July 27. 

Samples of cheese curds made by area cheesemakers will be available. The event will be held outdoors, weather permitting. There will be complimentary admission to the museum.

Bring family, friends, and lawn chairs for an evening of fun, food, and musical entertainment. 


Juda events July 28-29

JUDA — In conjunction with the Juda Fore Fathers events to be held on July 28-29, the Juda Fire and First Response will be holding two events on Saturday, July 29.

The first is a pancake breakfast at the Juda Community Center starting at 7 a.m. and going until 11 a.m. The menu includes pancakes, sausage, applesauce, cheese, milk, juice and coffee. A free-will donation will be accepted.  

A euchre tournament will be held in the Juda Fire Station starting at 1 p.m. Entry fee is $20 per person. 

There will be a 50/50 raffle along with prizes. Food and beverages will also be available.
