German-language presentation Sept. 9

MONROE — The Green County Genealogical Society meeting at 10 a.m. on Sept. 9 will feature “German-language materials in America: Resources for Genealogists at the Max Kade Institute” by Antje Petty.

The meeting will be held in the Monroe Public Library’s second floor meeting room.

Petty is the Associate Director of the Max Kade Institute for German-American Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where her research focuses on the experiences of German-speaking immigrants and their descendants. She shares the resources of the Institute through a variety of public programs.

The GCGS Research Center, located in the lower level of the Monroe Public Library, is available to the public for research each Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Other times are available by appointment by calling 608-325-7436 on Tuesday, or Bill at 608-325-2990.
