Library to slash fines for food

MONROE - The Monroe Public Library, 925 16th Ave., Monroe, will host its third annual Food for Fines week Monday, Oct. 17 to Saturday, Oct. 22.

Fore every non-expired, non-persishable human or pet food donated, library patrons will receive a $1 reduction in overdue library fines.

There is no limit to the amount of fines that can be cleared, but fines for lost or damaged items are not eligible for this event.

All donations will be given to the Green County Inter Church Food Pantry or the Green County Humane Society.
