LENA - Lena-Winslow High School will present the musical "Damn Yankees" at 7:30 p.m. March 11 and 12 in the Lena-Winslow Fine Arts Center Auditorium.

The musical is a comedy about the lovable loser baseball team, the Washington Senators, and their dream to beat the formidable New York Yankees. The hero of the story is an average Joe played by Colton Brinker. Joe makes a pact with the charming Devil named Applegate, played by John Jurkovic. Joe's loving and faithful wife, Meg, is played by senior Rachael Wybourn. Applegate's assistant, Lola, is played by senior Allison Stockton. Sophomore Kenny Broge plays Van Buren, the Senators' manager.

A cast of baseball players and singers will perform the signature song "Heart," as well as the well-known "Shoeless Joe from Hannibal, MO" and "The Game." Accompanied by a pit orchestra, the cast and crew of the musical will showcase the emotional struggle between good and evil.

Tickets will be available at the door the nights of the performance. The price is $5 for adults and $3 for students. Contact Lisa Stich at stichl@le-win.net or call the high school at 815-369-2525, extension 8, for more information.
