DARLINGTON — The Lafayette County Historical and Genealogy Society (LCHGS) will hold a few events next month.
At 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 3, LCHGS will hold its annual membership meeting in the lower level meeting room of the Museum and Archives, 525 Main Street, Darlington.
This brief meeting will provide updates on latest projects and future plans of the society. The public is welcome to attend. For current members only, there will also be election for the open Board of Directors position of Vice President.
A short while later, at 1:30 p.m., LCHGS will hold a program “Lavern Kammerude: a Celebration of Art and Life.”
This program celebrates a renowned local artist that will include a tribute to the artist, stories of his life, a large display of original paintings, and refreshments. Private owners of original Kammerude artwork (oil paintings, not prints) are invited to bring their pieces to allow attendees to view it at the program. Security Service is provided. The building has ramp and chair-lift access to both levels for those with mobility issues. Ample parking is available on all sides of the building and behind the building on Wells Street. At 3 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 21, the LCHGS Board will hold its November meeting to discuss current and future activities of the society. The public is welcome to attend. The meeting will be held in the lower level meeting room of the museum at 525 Main Street, Darlington.
