MONROE - Local landlords, who own properties and rent them out to individuals and families, are invited to attend an educational seminar dealing with state laws titled "The Law and the Landlord, Part 1, ATCP 134."
This seminar will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, at the Wisconsin Community Bank, 1717 10th Street, Monroe.
Cost is $15 and space is limited to the first 50 participants. Registration deadline is April 4.
Chet Brown, past Wisconsin Apartment Association president, continuing RHR Education Coordinator, and professionally trained public speaker with 25 years in telecommunications course development and instruction, will be presenting the seminar. Information will be provided on the Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection Chapter 134 - Residential Rental Practices, including:
Rental agreements and receipts;
Disclosure requirements;
Security deposits and credit check fees;
Prohibited rental agreement provisions and rental practices.
The cost for attending is only $15, but the knowledge gained could help ensure profitability while learning to decrease potential liability as a landlord.
Coffee and rolls will be provided during morning registration. Speaker handouts are included in the cost.
