MONROE - Kookaburra's, a destination for the "closet" gourmet, is now a member of the Monroe Chamber of Commerce. Kookaburra's is part of the lineup of businesses on the north side of the Square offering daily hours from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. during the week; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays; and noon to 4 p.m. Sundays.
Pull the giant wooden spoon handle on the door and smell the scent of mixes and spices, see the rainbow of colored cookware by Le Creuset like Caribbean blue, cobalt, cherry and even pink. Kookaburra's carries a variety of items for your cooking experience, from funky aprons and tea towels to organic spices.
Summer products revolve around specialty mustards, easy cheesecake mixes, grilling rubs and sauces like wasabi ginger and Vidalia onion fig from Stonewall Kitchen, not to mention the retro lemonade dispenser that is featured in the July '09 issue of Country Living Magazine.
