Hughes joins Swiss Colony

MONROE - Don Hughes joined The Swiss Colony Inc. on Jan. 12 as the new Chief Financial Officer. He will take full responsibility for management of the Accounting Department and will work with department heads across the organization.

Prior to joining the company, Hughes worked at Arthur Andersen in Milwaukee for three years. He joined Lands' End in Dodgeville in 1987 as a senior staff accountant. He was promoted to Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in 2000, positions he held until he left the company in 2004. Hughes was one of the founders of Fair Indigo, a new "fair trade" women's apparel and accessories company. He was the Chief Operating Officer when he left the company in November of 2008.

Hughes has a bachelor's degree in accounting from University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and is a CPA. He is the vice chairman of the UW-Whitewater Foundation Board and was previously the chairman of the audit committee and a board member for a public company in Seattle called Celebrate Express.

Originally from Blanchardville, Hughes and his wife, Joan, currently live in Mineral Point. They have five children ranging in age from 18 to 24: Adam, Heidi, Donny, Jesse, and David.
