MONROE - The Green County Historical Society will present a program that will briefly highlight the 27 properties in Green County that are listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The program will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the second-floor meeting room of the Monroe Public Library.
The program will feature properties in Attica, Brodhead, Browntown, Monroe, Monticello and New Glarus. Also being discussed will be a bit about several properties currently in the process of national recognition as well as exploring some of the myths of this honor and why registry can lead to some significant financial benefits for the owners of these properties.
The speaker will be Kim Tschudy, Green County Historical Society board member and member of the New Glarus Historic Preservation Commission. Tschudy has been instrumental in getting five Green County properties nominated and entered into the National Register of Historic Places.
Questions and answers will be taken at the end of the program.
