MONROE - The Green County 4-H Performing and Visual Arts Contest was held April 2 at the Monroe United Methodist Church with 18 youth participating.
The goal of the contest is to give 4-H youth in 5-year-old kindergarten through one year past high school an opportunity to express their creativity while developing artistic skills in a supportive and encouraging environment.
The judge for the instrumental and vocal divisions was Michael Pollock of Monticello Schools and the judge for the artwork and photography divisions was Theresa Wyss of Juda Schools.
Green County 4-H youth who participated in this year's contest were: Chance Ace, Roxane Ace, Connor Brauer, Maylee Brauer, Royce Brauer and Justin Moore (New Horizons); Mickaelynn Andrews (Washington Center); Devri Bennett (Cheese Country Clovers); Annika Bernstein (Clarence Bridge Pioneers); Heath Huschitt and Hunter Huschitt (Clarno); Averey Marean (Juda Jolly Juniors); Cassie Schultz and Logan Schultz (Dayton Dairylanders); Samantha Swihart (Jolly Mixers); Linnea Tabaka (Young Americans); and Samantha Holmstrom and Nora Tarala (New Glarus).
