MONROE - Monroe area Girl Scout troops are forming now for the new school year. Girls and their parents can attend Girl Scout sign-up nights, held 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at United Methodist Church, 2227 4th St., and at 6 to 7 p.m. Oct. 22 at the church.
All girls in grades kindergarten through 12 can join. The Girl Scout mission is to build girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place. Girl Scouts go on adventures, make friends, help their communities and become the next generation of leaders.
Adult volunteer opportunities are available.
