GC Healthy Community Coalition hosts 100 at housing summit

MONROE — The Green County Healthy Community Coalition Housing Committee hosted a county-wide summit that invited local leaders, lenders, municipalities, employers, realtors and developers together to discuss the true conditions of Green County’s Housing inventory and concerns.

Presenters addressed current inventory, how the lack of housing is detrimental to the health of our community, potential ways to partner in housing developments and gaining a full understanding of the needs of our county. 

Guests were involved in panel discussions, round table discussions and open forum question and answer sessions. 

The Green County Healthy Community Coalition is a volunteer organization that focuses efforts on improving the health of Green County through a variety of initiatives. Their most recent assessment indicated that housing is one of three top priorities in addressing the health needs of Green County.
