MADISON - Heather Fuller, Albany, and Marie Mahaney, Brodhead, have been selected to participate in the Farm Bureau Institute. The year-long leadership training program's mission is to develop strong and effective county Farm Bureau leaders.
The Farm Bureau Institute offers personal growth and leadership training to members, said Dale Beaty, Farm Bureau's director of training and leadership development.
Heather Fuller, Albany, will represent Green County and Marie Mahaney, Brodhead, will represent Rock County in the 2009 Farm Bureau Institute class.
The class will first meet in January and focus on public speaking, identifying personality and leadership skills, and etiquette. Subsequent sessions will focus on media training, local and state government, Farm Bureau structure and function, and national and international future ag issues.
The Wisconsin Farm Bureau Institute consists of five multi-day sessions that provide insights on issues important to agriculture, development of leadership and speaking skills, interaction with Farm Bureau leaders and staff and leaders in the governmental and agricultural sectors, and networking with other participants.
