FREEPORT- The Freeport Arts Center is hosting a monthly film series entitled Celebration of African Americans in Film. This is a free event and snacks will be available. The film series will begin at 6:30 p.m. on every fourth Wednesday of the month and runs throughout the 2008 calendar year. The featured films are as follows:

• January: Treasures of Black Cinema

• February: Gone with the Wind

• March: Guess Who's Coming to Dinner?

• April: Shaft

• May: School Daze

• June: Ali

• July: Glory

• August: Lady Sings the Blues

• September: Boyz in the Hood

• October: Raisin in the Sun

• November: Once Upon A Time When We Were Colored

• December: Eve's Bayou
