MONROE - FEMA and the Small Business Administration announced Wednesday that residents in Wisconsin will have an extra month to register for disaster aid. The deadline for residents to apply for disaster assistance for damages or losses caused by storms or flooding was extended from Aug. 13 to Sept. 15. To register with FEMA, call (800) 621-3362, on line at www.fema.gov, and for the speech and hearing impaired TTY: (800) 462-7585.

A community outreach team will also be at Fisher's Do It Best Hardware store in Brodhead from July 30 to August 4.

The team can provide expert advice on rebuilding to avoid future storm damages, cleaning up mold and information on flood insurance, and other state and federal disaster assistance programs.
