Chiefs of police throughout the State of Wisconsin gathered at the State Capitol Jan. 16 for Legislative Advocacy Day.
Those in attendance had the opportunity to meet with Governor Tony Evers, Attorney General Josh Kaul and state Senators and Representatives. Topics included stricter OWI laws, Constitutional rights for victims of crime, benefits for families of officers killed in the line of duty, fixing the state’s mental health system, body cameras, legislation to assist officers dealing with post traumatic stress injury and more.
