MADISON - Charter Communications, Inc. announced that its Because We Care food drive resulted in approximately 7,000 nonperishable food items collected for Wisconsin food pantries.
Charter encouraged customers to visit a local Charter office and bring in food items to exchange for free movie coupons for Charter's On Demand service. Customers received four movie coupons for six donated food items. All of the food collected is being donated to local food pantries in various Charter service areas.
"Even in difficult economic times, Charter and our customers continue to look out for their neighbors in need," Lisa Washa, vice-president and general manager of operations for Charter in Wisconsin, said. "The need is increasing at all of Wisconsin's food pantries, but the Because We Care program is working to help keep shelves stocked."
Over the past year, Charter has invested over a billion dollars, including millions here in Wisconsin, to continue improving its products and to enhance its service capabilities. More information about Charter can be found at www.charter.com.
