BROWNTOWN - The Browntown Museum committee is having a Cemetery Walk on April 30. Walkers will meet at 8:30 a.m. in the southwest corner of the Shopko parking lot in Monroe to board a chartered bus that will take them to five area cemeteries.

The first three stops will be at Old Calvary Cemetery and Kelly-Morton-Franklin Cemetery, both on Wisconsin 11, followed by a tour of the Browntown Museum.

Lunch will be served at the Browntown Civic Center. Barb's Kitchen will cater barbecue, cheesy potatoes, macaroni and potato salads, and bars or cakes.

After lunch, the tour will move on to the Jordan Church cemetery on Smock Valley Road and then to the Lewis Cemetery on Lewis Road.

Names of the soldiers who are buried at each cemetery will be read. The bus will return to Monroe at about 4:30 p.m.

The cost of the trip is $30 per person. Pre-registration by April 15 is required so space and food can be planned. Call JoAnn Wilde at 608-325-3571 or Helen Johnson at 608-966-3514 to make a reservation.
