Brooklyn: Rides for disabled Saturday
Placeholder Image
BROOKLYN - Catholic Charities' Recreation Program invites Green County residents age 16 and older who have a developmental disability to join them for speeder car rides at 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, in Brooklyn.

This event will begin with a brief history of the use of speeder cars on the railroad followed by a ride on the speeder cars through the beautiful country side of Brooklyn.

There will be a group discount so tickets will be $4.50.

Those attending are encouraged to bring their family members, guardians and staff persons to share in the fun.

Attendees should dress warm because the speeder cars have open cabs and move quickly along the rails.

Supervision will be provided by Catholic Charities.

Participants are asked to RSVP to Anna Anderson at (608) 293-1079. Volunteers are needed to help chaperone the event.

There has been interest expressed in establishing car pools to Brooklyn. To chaperone, volunteer to drive or make car pool arrangements, contact Anderson.
