Bloody Lake Rendezvous starts today

WOODFORD - The 33rd annual Bloody Lake Rendezvous is set for Tuesday through Sunday at Black Hawk Memorial Park.

The pre-1840 encampment will be open to the public, rain or shine, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. Those who attend will experience the sights, sounds and smells of life 200 years ago. The events include shooting competitions, archery contests, hawk and knife throwing, traders and food vendors, and kids' games on Saturday morning.

The spectator fee is $2 or free for kids 12 and under, Boy Scouts in uniform and military members. Fee prices will go towards preserving the historic park.

No pets are allowed with visitors.
