WISCONSIN/IOWA —The Red Cross has an urgent need for blood donors this summer, as the COVID-19 pandemic has caused unprecedented supply challenges amid this uncertain environment. Additionally, despite states lifting stay-at-home orders and reopening, many blood drives at businesses and community organizations continue to be canceled as these locations remain closed or restrict the number of individuals at any location.

Those who present to donate July 1-31 will automatically be entered for a chance to win an authentic Wonder Woman 1984 movie prop replica package, which includes the Golden Lasso and a pair of Gauntlets, identical to Wonder Woman’s from the film.

Those who are feeling well should appointment to by using the Blood Donor App, visiting RedCrossBlood.org, calling 1-800-733-2767 or enabling the Blood Donor Skill on any Alexa Echo device. Donors are asked to schedule an appointment prior to arrival and are required to wear a face covering or mask while at the drive, in alignment with Centers for Disease Control public guidance.


NEW GLARUS — A community blood drive will be held from 12 to 6 p.m. Aug. 7 at the New Glarus Bible Church, corner of 3rd Ave. and 6th St. For an appointment call 800-733-2767 or visit redcrossblood.org.

MONROE — The American Red Cross will be hosting a blood drive from  11:15 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on July 27 at United Methodist Church, 2227 4th St. Another blood drive will be held from 12 to 6 p.m. on Aug. 6 at the Monroe Bible Church, 2613 8th Ave. For an appointment call 800-733-2767 or visit redcrossblood.org.
