BBBS plans Tour de Cheese for Oct. 1

MONROE - Big Brothers Big Sisters of Green County will host the third annual Tour de Cheese Bike Tour on Saturday, Oct. 1.

Tour de Cheese will feature the local cheese industry, with riders being able to stop at Maple Leaf, Grande and Silver Lewis cheese factories.

Sign in for the ride will be from 7 to 9 a.m. on the south east corner of the downtown square. Riders will choose between a 15-, 30- or 60-mile route. The fully supported ride will offer refreshments, including cheese, at rest stops, and safety guards will be located at busy intersections. Two sag trucks will also cruise the route in case bike repair is needed.

Early registration before Sept. 19 is $35 and includes a T-shirt. Anyone interested in riding can register at www.bbbsgreen.kintera.org/tourdecheese.

New sponsors include Alp & Dell Cheese Store, Roth Kase, Studer Super Service, Inc., and Thrivent. They join Badger State Ethanol, Bike Haus, Colony Brands, Gartzke Law Office, SC, Glanbia Nutritionals and Main Street. Big Brothers Big Sisters is donor funded and volunteer driven.
