Lunch Bunch to meet July 9

DARLINGTON - The Lunch Bunch meeting is scheduled from noon to 1 p.m. Monday, July 9 at the County Board Room of the Lafayette County Courthouse, 626 Main St.

Participants can bring their lunch to the program.

The topic will be pain management, presented by Ann Lucas, M.D., Family Health of Lafayette County. She will discuss causes of pain, evaluation and treatment options.

The informal, free session is sponsored in part by Lafayette County Home and Community Education, University of Wisconsin-Extension, and free-will donations.

Legion breakfast set for Sunday

MONROE - The Second Sunday Breakfast is set for 8 a.m. until noon Sunday, July 8 at the Monroe American Legion, 627 12th Ave.

The menu includes pancakes, French toast, fried and scrambled eggs, hash browns, ham, sausage, muffins, biscuits and gravy, juices and a fruit cup.

Prices are $6 for adults, $4 for children ages 3 to 10, and free for children under 3. All proceeds go towards veteran's service, community service and scholarships.

Christmas in July planned for July 12

MONROE - Aster Retirement Communities will celebrate Christmas in July at noon on Thursday, June 12, 616 8th Ave., Monroe. The event is open to the public.

The dining room will be decorated as it would be in December. Planned activities include bingo, with prizes reflecting the holiday spirit. Christmas cookies, hot chocolate and coffee will be served. Prizes will be given to the first, second and third place for best dressed.

Sale continues through weekend

MONROE - The Monroe American Legion's three-day rummage sale will continue today, July 7; and Sunday, July 8 at the post home, 1627 12th Ave. The sale began Friday.

Times for the rummage sale are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and 8 a.m. to noon Sunday.
