FREEPORT — The Greater Freeport Partnership will host the fifth annual Arctic Ale and Art Walk from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 24.

More than 20 participating businesses will feature a local artist and the opportunity to taste a favorite ale.  A tasting cup is $10 and can be purchased the day of the event.

The day starts at the Partnership office (110 W. Main St., Freeport) to get wristbands and event tasting cups. A list of participating locations and other event information will be available at the check-in location and can be found at greaterfreeport.com/arcticale or by downloading the Greater Freeport Partnership mobile app.

Artists and artisans in local shops are to show their talents. The opportunity to buy their work is available. Artists range in media from paintings, photography, pottery, fiber arts, jewelry, and more.

“We are excited for another exciting Arctic Ale and Art Walk in Downtown Freeport,” said Partnership Events and Engagement Manager Katie Gentz. “This event is a favorite to get us through the winter months and encourage residents and visitors to enjoy our local shops, no matter the weather. Shop in our fabulous stores with the added bonus of wonderful artists and ale tasting. Bring the family down, as some of the artists offer hands-on activities, and enjoy all that downtown Freeport has to offer.”

Feb. 24 will also be the first Freeport Festival District date for the year. On a designated festival district day, patrons can purchase a beverage (as a part of an event or otherwise), and carry it throughout downtown to enjoy the attractions, shopping, and dining in Downtown Freeport from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

The Greater Freeport Partnership is a collaboration of business, community, visitor and economic development services with the mission to drive economic growth for Freeport and Stephenson County.
