Aging and disability resource center: August is National Immunization Awareness Month

MONROE - The Green County Aging and Disability Resource Center is encouraging citizens to celebrate National Immunization Awareness Month in August by taking the time to find out what vaccines they may need and to stay up to date on their shots.

The specific immunizations needed as an adult are determined by factors such as age, lifestyle, high-risk conditions, type and locations of travel and previous immunizations. To stay protected against serious illnesses like the flu, measles and tuberculosis, adults may need to receive shots.

For more information, visit ADRCGreenCounty.org. A schedule of adult immunizations, based on age, is also available on the website.
