MONROE - Agricultural producers and rural small businesses interested in renewable energy and energy efficiency projects are encouraged to attend a grant-writing workshop from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Feb. 10, sponsored by Green County UW-Extension.

This webinar workshop will be presented by USDA Rural Development via live, interactive Web, allowing participants to gather at a local site and interact with presenters and other participants around the state. Green County area participants will meet at Yodel Hall in the Government Services Building, N3150B Highway 81 just outside of Monroe. Participants are encouraged to pre-register by calling Cara Carper at (608) 328-9441.

The Renewable Energy for America Program provides grants and loan guarantees to agricultural producers and small rural businesses to purchase and install renewable energy systems or make energy efficiency improvements. Eligible projects include biomass, wind, solar, geothermal, hydrogen and other energy efficiency projects that reduce energy usage in existing buildings and processes.
