MONROE - The Green County Ag Chest is seeking high school girls interested in representing their communities and the Ag Chest, as well as informing the public about agriculture and Green County.
The opportunities that come from the one-year commitment as a dairy queen include enhancing speaking and writing skills and developing new contacts and friendships. Four orientation meetings are scheduled and those interested in becoming a dairy queen must attend one of the meetings. Scheduled meetings are:
- 5:30 p.m. Sunday, April 22 at New Glarus Nursing Home, 600 2nd Ave.
- 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 25 at Juda Community Building, N2350 County OK.
- 7 p.m. Monday, April 30 at the Justice Center, 2841 6th St., Monroe. Ag Chest meeting is at 8 p.m. Candidates will introduce themselves to the board and attendees.
- 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 2 at Albany Lions.
All candidates will be asked to help at the Green County Dairy Breakfast Saturday, May 26 at the Don and Jane Elmer farm. This year's judging for all communities will take place on Sunday, May 20 at the Justice Center.
