BRODHEAD — The 7th annual Tractor Drive and Ride event took place on Sept. 27 with 13 tractors and several drivers participating.
The annual fundraiser was held at the Spring Grove Town Hall. Wagons were provided for riders to get a leisurely ride in the countryside. Lunch was served by Boy Scout Troop #108. Teena Monk-Gerber, Dementia Outreach Specialist for the Alzheimer’s and Dementia Alliance of Wisconsin, gave a brief message with tips about staying calm during the pandemic. Funds raised at this event benefited the Alzheimer’s and Dementia Alliance of Wisconsin (ADAW). Thanks to individual and community support, this event raised over $6,700.
All funds raised and donated to the ADAW stay locally within the 15 counties that ADAW serves. The ADAW provides various programs, education, consultation and help at no charge for families on the Alzheimer’s or dementia journey. “We look forward to bringing this event back to the Brodhead Airport in 2021. With the airport museum, planes, tractors and possibly ATVs there will be lots to do and see for the whole family,” said Fritz Wenger, one of the organizers of the Tractor Drive and Ride event.
