MONROE - A Monticello man was killed Sunday in a one-vehicle rollover crash in the N9000 block of County J, Town of York.

The crash was reported at 9:14 p.m. when a passing motorist discovered a vehicle in a ditch. The motorist attempted to provide CPR to the crashed vehicle's driver, identified as August B. Moen, 66, Monticello, who had been ejected from his vehicle.

Investigation revealed that the driver lost control of his vehicle on the road's gravel shoulder, causing it to roll over into a ditch, according to a press release from the Green County Sheriff's Department.

The driver died at the scene, according to the Green County Coroner's Office.

Currently, there is no evidence that alcohol or another vehicle played any role in the crash.

This is the fourth traffic fatality in Green County this year.
