City of Monroe Laborer Streets Division Application Deadline May 13, 2018 (11:59 PM) $19.12 / hour City of Monroe Laborer Parks Division Application Deadline May 13, 2018 (11:59 PM) $18.77 / hour The City of Monroe (population 10,717) is seeking qualified individuals to fill openings as a laborer in both the Streets and Parks & Urban Forestry Divisions. The Streets Division Laborer's primary purpose is to perform routine unskilled manual work in the construction, maintenance, and repair of streets, storm drains, sidewalks and related public works facilities; removal of snow, collection of garbage and recyclables, and painting of traffic markings; and the operation of light equipment. The Parks Division Laborer's primary purpose is to perform routine unskilled manual work in the construction, maintenance, and repair of parks, public grounds, and public facilities; collection of garbage and recyclables; and the operation of light equipment. These are both full time positions with additional rotation of holidays, nights, and weekend work. Mechanical and mathematical skills are highly desired. Qualified candidates will have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent and a current, valid state issued driver's license. Preference will be given to applicants who have a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL). Individuals interested must apply for each position individually.
