As Monroe High School soccer players followed up crossing passes with powerful shots towards the goal, new coach Kyle Kasten challenged them to see how many goals they could score in five minutes.

Low numbers mean no season for Albany baseball
Albany High School canceled its baseball season this spring due to a lack of enough players, and next year's season may be in jeopardy if a cooperative agreement can't be reached with another school.

Albany Athletic Director Derik Doescher announced the cancellation of this baseball season on Friday.

Three area basketball players were honored by the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association recently

Darlington senior Will Schwartz, an Edgewood College recruit, was named first-team WBCA Division 4 all-state. Pecatonica senior A.J. Hendrickson was named first-team WBCA Division 5 all-state.

Swinging into action
The members of the Monroe baseball team got their first swings, throws and catches in during the first official practice Monday in the gym at Monroe High School.

Monroe coach Dustin Huffman said it would have been nice to have been outside, but the field isn't ready yet even with the 64 degree day.

For the second straight year, Pecatonica senior A.J. Hendrickson was named the Six Rivers East Conference Player of the Year.

Hendrickson, who averaged 23.7 points and 6.5 rebounds per game, was named first-team all-conference.
