Beckett Wachholz, Alex Koepp, Emerson Briggs, Abby Hollis, Nate Stokstad and Blake Finley took part in the fourth- and fifth-grade Math 24 competition Feb. 27 at the Union South on the UW-Madison campus. Students competed throughout the morning to find the fastest 24 sums.
Fifth-grade students had an added challenge of coming up with a missing variable to make both sides of the card equal 24. All students did a good job: Alex Koepp had the most points for the Albany fourth-graders, and Blake Finley had the most fifth-grade points for Albany. Finley finished second overall out of all the fifth-graders in his room, and Nate Stokstad finished fourth. Pictured, in back from left, are Alex Koepp, Nate Stokstad, Emerson Briggs and Abby Hollis.
