Ede Davis, age 89 of Monroe, Wisconsin passed away April 6, 2018. She was born Etha Jane Discher, July 28, 1928, in Monroe, daughter of Fred and Alice Lorena (Wright) Discher, Clarno Township.
Ede was first married to Vernon "Bud" Schillinger and had two daughters, Jan and Jean.
Bud and Ede enjoyed entertaining and playing bridge with friends.
In 1976, she married Burton Davis and with his daughter, Ginger and son, Douglas they moved to Brodhead. After purchasing a cottage on Big Sand Lake in Burnett County, they spent many weekends on the water with family and friends. Both Burt and Ede were loyal members of the Moose. After Burt passed away, she became involved with the Kidney Foundation and active in the Women of the Moose. Ede received the College of Regents degree on May 27, 2006. She was a volunteer driver for several years with Green County Human Services, served on the Green County Aging Advisory Committee and was Green County's representative on the state AgeAdvantAge Advisory and Board. Ede loved to travel. She went to Switzerland in 2000 and enjoyed an Alaskan cruise in 2003. Ede retired from The Swiss Colony as a Purchasing Agent in 1984 and was a member of Monroe United Methodist Church.
She is survived by daughter, Jan (Dave) Wartenweiler; grandchildren, Jake Wartenweiler and Jamie (Jason) Shepherd, Adalissa, Hamilton, and Elsbeth; daughter, Jean (Myron Ellingson) Rufenach; grandchildren, Sheila (Steve) Caruso, Eli, Sylvia, Tess, Lindsey (Matt) Baker, Oliver, and Mila; daughter, Ginger (Randy) Riese; grandchildren, Sheridy (Tony) Zimmerman, Isabelle, Isaac, Eloise, Tanner, and Victoria (Andy Simonson) Riese, Garrett, Grant, and Jonathon (Christina Tway) Riese, Cassidy, Justice, Bryce, Abigail, Lilly, and Logan.
She was preceded in death by brother, Frederick Discher; husband, Burton Davis; son, Douglas; sister, Ruth Hornstra; and great-grandson, Turner Zimmerman.
The Women of the Moose will be holding a memorial service on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Monroe Moose Lodge with a Celebration of Life and luncheon to follow until 2:00 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Monroe United Methodist Church.
Shriner-Hager-Gohlke funeral home is assisting the family.
