Delbert H. Ritschard, age 86, of Argyle, WI, passed away Wednesday, August 6, 2014, at Fran's Place Adult Home in Wiota, WI. He was born December 4, 1927 in rural Monticello, WI, the son of Herman and Emma (Grossen) Ritschard. Delbert attended Loveland Grade School. He was confirmed at Washington Reformation Church and graduated from Monticello High School in 1945.
Delbert was united in marriage to Darlyne Boeck on December 3, 1946 and raised a family while farming. He was proud to say he had "One kid for every day of the week." He is survived by his children: Cal Ritschard of Columbia City, IN, Dean (Jackie) Ritschard of Monroe, WI, Tom (Dorothy) Ritschard of Argyle, Scott (Tammy) Ritschard of Argyle, Lorna Mick of Argyle, Ann (Jerry) Thompson of Dodgeville, WI, and Keith (Tina) Ritschard of Argyle; 18 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Raland of Monticello and Mike (Sandy) of Juda, WI; two sisters: Darlyne (Elton) Segner of Monroe and Marlys (John) Hegge of Madison, WI; and a sister-in-law: Evelyn Ritschard of Monticello. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Donald, Hank (Betty), and Bobby (Sun Bun); a sister-in-law: Leona Ritschard; two grandchildren: Nathan Mick and Kristi Ritschard; and a son-in-law: Dan Mick.
The family farm was located on Prairie View Road in Adams Township in rural Argyle. He later worked for Monty Chesebro and Monroe Cheese Corp. in Monticello, where he made many friends. After moving back to Argyle he worked with his family at Ritschard Brother's Shirtprinting owned by his youngest son, Keith and his wife Tina. Delbert's hobbies included cracking walnuts and hickory nuts. His most enjoyable times however were playing and watching sports. He loved attending games, watching his own children, the grandchildren, and finally the great-grandchildren. He was an Argyle Sports Booster and loved the Packers, Badgers, Brewers, and Bucks. He never understood how a few of his brothers became Cubs and Bears fans. He naturally loved sports, because he grew up with the Grossen boys and they played ball all the time. Delbert also enjoyed gardening, dancing, Swiss music, and spending time with his family.
