Jack Waelti passed away unexpectedly on Oct. 25, 2013 in Bluff Dale, Texas. He was born August 16, 1944 in Monroe, Wisconsin to Melvin and Jane Waelti. He graduated in 1962 from Juda High School and also attended the Uni. of Texas. After high school he worked on the family farm and quarry until the family moved to Melbourne, Florida. There he worked in the family business, Melbourne Sound Co. After marrying he moved to New Braunfels, Texas. He started working at "Jack in the Box" restaurants until attending the university there. He later became owner of 35 "Jack in the Box" restaurants all over Texas. He eventually sold these restaurants and opened various others, one of which was "Coral Bay," a riverfront gourmet restaurant in Melbourne, Fla. It was destroyed by (2) back-to-back hurricanes in 2004. He then went back to Texas and opened a steak house and got into cross-country trucking business. He also got a pilot's license and learned to fly.
He will be so missed by his family and friends. His sense of humor was wonderful; he loved to do his magic tricks for everyone, especially children, playing "Santa Claus" for needy families at Christmas, and just giving his family and friends a "hard time" until we were laughing so hard we hurt! He was a busy, complicated man but always so appreciated the simple things in his life, his wife, and his beloved cats.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Kristen, daughters Michelle, Melissa,Brandy, all of Texas, step-daughters Stacie, Ft. Worth, Texas, and Shelley, Florida; sister, Eloise, brother, Rick, both of Melbourne, Fla. He was proceeded in death by his parents, step-son, Joey, and maternal and paternal grandparents. Private services will be held. Condolences can be sent to his family at P.O. Box 250, Bluff Dale, Texas 76433.
