Linda Marie Benway, age 61 of Monroe, Wisconsin died unexpectedly on Sunday, May 5, 2013 at home. She was born on July 17, 1951 in Newport, RI the daughter of Gloria (Holt) Coite and the late George Coite. On February 27, 1970 she married Daniel Benway and together they had two daughters. Over the years, she worked at the Newport Navy Base, American Cheeseman, New Glarus Foods, Swiss Colony, MTX, and Play Core DBA Swing N Slide until she retired in 2008. Linda was a very happy, loving, dedicated, and caring wife and mother. She was very involved in her family's lives. She enjoyed spending time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren and great-granddaughter.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Daniel; and her two daughters, Lorna Benway of Elkhorn, WI and Angela Benway of Gardiner, ME; her three grandsons, Travis Benway of Delavan, WI, Evan and Logan Benway both of Gardiner, ME; and one great-granddaughter, Taylor Benway of Delavan, WI. She loved and truly adored all of them. She is further survived by her mother, Gloria Coite; brothers, George Coite, Jr. and Paul Coite all of Newport, RI; and sisters, Joann (Robert) Cook of Albany, WI, Betty (Jerry) Hux of North Carolina, Gloria Farris and Mary Coite of Newport, RI; nieces, nephews, other relatives, many friends, and her beloved dog, Missy. She was preceded in death by her father, George Coite and her brothers, Dennis, Joe, and Eddie.
A Celebration of Linda's Life will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Thursday, May 9, 2013 at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home 1455 Mansion Drive & N. 18th Avenue in Monroe, WI.
A Memorial Fund is being established in Linda's memory.
