Tamara Jean "Tammy" Schilt, age 52 of Monroe, died Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at her home.
Tammy was born in Ottumwa, Iowa on January 23, 1959, the second of three daughters for Jim and Jean (Bergquist) Boston.
Tammy began her life in Iowa, later moving to Monroe where she graduated from high school in 1977. In Monroe she met her high school sweetheart and life long love, Jon Schilt. Tammy had a passion for cheerleading, horseback riding, and the arts. She also worked as a candy striper at St. Clare Hospital where she found her love in caring for others. She attended Highland Community College where she graduated with a nursing degree in May, 1980. She and Jon were married on August 15, 1980.
Tammy helped Jon and his brother Ron Schilt farm in Clarno Township. Tammy and Jon relocated to Sauk City where Tammy devoted herself to nursing, specializing in geriatrics. Tammy also had a strong love and passion for her family.
She is survived by a son, Jason (Erica) Schilt of Pardeeville, WI; a daughter, Cory Schilt (Jack Sieburg), both of Chicago; her mother, Jean Boston of Monroe; two sisters, Barbara Borenitsch of West Allis, and Jami Boston of Carmel, IN; mother-in-law, Jean (Delton) Davis; two brothers-in-law, Tom Schilt and Ron (Loni) Schilt; two sisters-in-law, Deb (Pat) Davis and Patti (Tom) Stauffacher, all of Monroe; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jon, in March, 2011; her father, Jim Boston, in 2008; and father-in-law, Robert Schilt in 1978.
