An era that was, that will never be again: National Historic Cheesemaking Center
An era that was, that will never be again: National Historic Cheesemaking Center
The Badger Cheese Company operated in the very early 1900s. The company's location is uncertain but presumably located on Cheese Row between 13th and 14th avenues adjacent to the rail line. A ledger from the century-old Imobersteg Cheese Factory indicates Badger Cheese Company was among the wholesalers purchasing Alfred Imobersteg's cheese. The Milwaukee Refrigerated Transit and Car Co., pictured above, provided refrigerated rail transportation from Monroe to other parts of the U.S. Questions and comments may be directed to Mary Ann Hanna at 608-325-4324 or nhcchistory@yahoo.com.
