Garden to be Removed
Garden to be Removed
After four years, the urban garden and public green space on the southeast corner of the Square will be going away. Each year, Main Street Monroe planned, planted, painted and added to the space, garnering positive response from the community. The Green County Master Gardeners, volunteers, high school students and anonymous helpers all contributed to the effort. A fundraising campaign to purchase the lot came up short and the monthly rent for the lot has been cost-prohibitive, according to Main Street Monroe. Now that Cheese Days has passed, the garden is scheduled to be removed. (Photo supplied)
