Amid continuing discussions on a school referendum this fall and what would be cut if it fails, Monroe school district's Ron Olson delivered some good news to the school board Monday even as he projected a flat budget for next year.
Michael Phelps and Missy Franklin won't be the only swimmers to watch in this week's Olympic Trials in Omaha, Nebraska. Monticello native Marissa Berg also will compete in the trials.
The Monroe Publishing offices, which includes The Monroe Times, Monroe Shopping News and Freeport Shopping News, will be closed Friday and Monday for the Fourth of July holiday. Regular office hours will resume July 5. No edition of The Monroe Times will be published Monday.
